Unbelievable! You painted a mural for me yesterday, but because I was out of town, with work, I didn't get to see it until tonight. That is the most incredible thing that I have ever seen. The entire mural is incredible, but the raised are above my tub is just magnificent. In the light the raised area looks like a round, raised area, with a ceiling fan hanging in the middle. But, when I turn out the lights, it looks like I have eight individual windows up there, divided by beams, with thousands of stars and the most incredible moon that I have ever seen. How did you do that?
I showed it to a friend of mine who does Trompe L'oeil type art, and he said that he was extremely impressed.
You are a master at what you do and I am so happy that I had you came out and paint for me. At first, the price seemed a little high, but now I feel that I got every penny of my money's worth. My friend agreed.

We visited a friend in the Las Vegas area last year, and while there we saw a mural of the night sky that a local company had done for them. What a great idea to have a night sky on the ceiling that is only visible in the dark. Very cool.
Well, we loved it so much that we looked around for someone to paint one for us here in Idaho. We found you and, although you were not in Idaho, you agreed to come out and paint it for us in our bedroom and media room. We only hoped that you would do as nice a job for us as we say at our friends house.

We have been looking into ceiling murals for quite some time. We have seen the S********* paintings, which we thought were nice. We’ve also seen murals from other independent artists and companies as well. But when we saw the murals done by Jeff at Dark Sky Murals… it was nothing short of amazing. It was like Wal-mart versus Saks Fifth Avenue. Wow!
The longer you sit there and look at it… the more real it becomes. I mean, really... after you get your eyes completely adjusted to the mural... you really begin to believe that your home has no roof on it at all anymore... just a bright open view of the Heavens.

I was a little skeptical about how it might turn out, and when you were done it was awesome. Then I thought to myself, well, it looks great when the windows are all covered in foil, but how will it look during the evenings, with my neighbor's porch light and the full moon outside? In a word, incredible!
It's now part of my evening ritual to plug in the black light before getting ready for bed. The mural charges while we feed the cat, brush teeth, etc.... By the time we're ready for bed, we turn the lights off and WOW!
(A Black Light is not necessary. If people will change out their incandescent light bulbs to the energy-saving, fluorescent, spiral light bulbs... that is usually enough to charge up the night sky. A ceiling fan with lights underneath it is the best, when the spiral lights are in it)
The Milky Way is beautiful, the depth and glow is perfect, and now I don't fall asleep quite so fast because I'm constantly fascinated by the mural.
The other night, I forgot to plug in the black light and the first thing my wife said after turning out the room lights was, "Where are the stars???" So obviously, she likes it quite a bit.
Normally my wife doesn't join me for astronomy because it's so dang cold at night, and the mosquitoes, etc..., but the mural is now her favorite thing. I think she'd prefer a few more stars on the ceiling fan, but that's about it.
We can't wait to paint the walls of our bedroom a darker color and add some curtains to help finish the room.
Our friends are likewise amazed -- "How'd you do that???"

As an avid amateur astronomer, I have grown to love the wonder of the night sky. Your work really does give the impression of a beautiful night sky far from city lights. The abundance of stars and the contrast between brighter and dimmer stars looks truly realistic. The ceiling seems to disappear and you feel like you're gazing at the heavens. It's a great alternative to the real thing on cloudy nights.
